Less is More..........Really???
So Balmain is probably one of the biggest and hottest high end premium brands on the market today ( especially if ur a celebrity ) But i can't help but be a little WTF? about this particular piece, the slashed army t-shirt as its called, is selling for 1,625$ U.S. Don't get me wrong, i totally love Balmain, and am a big fan of their product, but this just puts a whole new spin on '' paying for a name brand '' . Then again i'm almost sure this is more of a show piece, and they probably don't sell truck loads of these, but its still kind of over the top. But hey, if you can afford this tee shirt, why not check out this Alligator Military inspired Jacket, its only a few bucks more...anyone got 74,000 Gizzies layin around? :)
Le Grand Monde de la mode...c'est fou en tsi tsi! Gotta luv it!

Oh Terry...U SO BAAAAAAD! :)
One of the worlds most respected fashion photographers, Terry Richardson was recently accused by model Rie Rasmussen of abusing his position and exploiting models.
Fashion editor, Jenna Sauers said about Terry:
"I think for people in the fashion industry, the way Terry Richardson works has been an open secret for a long time, I think a lot of people tolerate it in public because of his extraordinary power within the industry. In private I think many are very disturbed by his history of behaviour with many of the models he works with."
Terry admitted to getting naked during interviews, in order to create a vibe/atmosphere:
"At first, I'd just want to do a few nude shots, so I'd take off my clothes, too … I'd even give the camera to the model and get her to shoot me for a while. It's about creating a vibe, getting people relaxed and excited. When that happens you can do anything. I don't think I'm a sex addict, but I do have issues. Maybe it's the psychological thing that I was a shy kid, and now I'm this powerful guy with his boner, dominating all these girls"
Now Terry is hitting back against the allegations made against him, stating on his blog the following:
"I just want to take a moment to say I’m really hurt by the recent and false allegations of insensitivity and misconduct. I feel fortunate to work with so many extraordinary people each and every day. I’ve always been considerate and respectful of the people I photograph and I view what I do as a real collaboration between myself and the people in front of the camera. To everyone who has embraced and supported me and my work, I am so grateful. Thank you, it means a lot.
Terry"
Terry we Still love you...

Canvas Luv...
Always still one of my favorites...and often following what Converse is up to...especially when John Varvatos is involved. But this is something quite different and special in its own right. Meet Felix.
Using a mix of traditional instruments and miscellaneous everyday items, Felix builds complex sculptures that turn his electronic compositions into acoustic sounds, reinventing what it means to make music.
It all began with his parent’s piano. “I built a mechanism that allowed it to draw,” Felix explains. “Playing it would produce a graphic recording, a kind of reverse score.”
And it went on from there. Felix’s machines are now musical sculptures that are all about aesthetic and sensory pleasure. Constructed in his bedroom, the countless abstractions act as blueprints that, as Felix says “create a space where artificial and dream-like environments can become a reality.”

Still a front runner...
Don't kid yourself, when levi's comes to mind, most of us think done, done and done. Unfortunately here in North America, the timeless denim juggernaut has been misrepresented and misunderstood for more than a decade. Europe as no surprise has got it right . Although i do prefer last falls campaign, but this one is very suiting for the great weather we've been having. Summer's around the corner folks. This is Levi's S/S 2010 ad campaign "Life is Calling" photographed by Drew Jarrett. They continue to keep a healthy place in the busy denim market nonetheless, with their contemporary line, Japanese denim, classic 501 and many collaborations, there is something within the brand for everyone.
and for shits and giggles...take a look at this vintage levi's strauss denim dating back between 1890-1901, worn, torn, beatin' to shreds pretty much by a minor or rail road worker back in the day, still in tact with the original buttons, shanks and rivets. Well if you're interested, they're being sold on Ebay! their asking price you ask???...35,000$ U.S.
NO!...there ain't one to many zero's in there...these are going for 35G's! Pony Up!
Happy Shopping.

Once Upon a Time...In a Land, Far Far Away...
Ok so its not that long ago, but dating back to the First MM campaign in the fall of 2007, to our most current campaign of spring 2010, you can see how MM as a brand has evolved through out the years and especially through out the collections. Working for the most part with the same team ( photographer & make up artist ) since the beginning, we've all grown to understand and appreciate each others work. Of course a photo shoot is not just another photo shoot to us, we like to tell a story behind each campaign, and letting the collection be represented in the right way. After 4 of these shoots, after having met and worked with amazing people through the seasons and collections, this is what we do, and will keep on keepin' on. I'd like to think we're like a fine wine, only getting better and stronger as time goes by! What we have in store for what will be MM's first ever full menswear collection will undoubtably be the best to date. As we are gearing up to shoot the next campaign, MM '' Cut & Sew '' F/W 20.10 will be a BANGER!!!
Have a fantastical week-end.

Thank You Vancouver 20.10...
YES..it is another blog on these olympics and why wouldn't i share my feelings on what has been some of the best, thrilling, emotional, and satisfying tv in sports in a very long time. The Vancouver Olympics brought together the entire world in witnessing CANADA being the all time GOLD leader in winter olympic history. HUGEEEEEEE!!! These games have etched moments that will last a life time and be talked about for a very long time, Bilodeau's first gold on Canadian soil, Montgomery propelled to instant rockstar status, Rochette skates her heart out, maelle Ricker the bubbly snowboarder, and so SO MANY MORE...but the stage was set to what was meant to be...and did it ever deliver...a nail biter of a final between Canada and the U.S. Bringing these games to an end, in a story book type finish...CANADA GLORIUS AND FREE.....AND FUCKING GOLDEN! 14 TO BE MORE PRECISE!!!
A part of me is quite sad that these Olympics are done, but like many out there, the memories carry forward great conversations that can certainly last until the next winter games! A slew of emotions ran through me in the past 17 days that made this all the more special, monstrous goosebumps, anxiety, heart break, watery eyes, but the YELL coming from the gut, making the weirdest scariest sound, after Cole Harbor Nova Scotia's own, Sidney Crosby scored that o.t. winner, summed it all up! Champions, through and through.
To top off a great Olympic Sunday and weekend for that matter, we took to the ice ourselves later that night, adrenaline still pumping after the game we just witnessed, unveiling our own MM Hockey Club, we did it in fashion we didn't disappoint, beating our opponents in a rout of 10-2, not quite as dramatic as Canada's game but a win is a win...right??
AHHHHHH the beauty of sports!
Peace
Stevo
