Lately, Kanye's been on my blog quite often...with reason! I mean you don't have to be an artist by any means to be able to appreciate his level of creativity, and it only seems to get better and better. He's revolutionizing the way videos are shot, edited, pieced together to complete an artistic masterpiece of lights, sounds, visuals and lyrics while fusing different music genres and just making it all flow together like popcorn n' butter, cheese and red wine, chicken nuggets and fancy sauce....u get it right? I've said it before...a creative genius to say the least.

Campaigns are like Chocolate...

Not sure where i'm going with that title...but chocolate gets me excited....and so does this campaign.

Here's another great shot of 4 in this series, entitled '' Eyeliner & Cigarettes '' Photographed by Anthony J Branco...a now seasoned veteran in shooting MM's campaigns and capturing the brands essence and vision has become second nature, which can easily be seen in his work. That being said, i'm pleased to announce we will be relaunching a small women's collection as of S/S11.

On another note JJ, who's been the face of MM for the past 2 campaigns, other various campaign shoots , numerous catwalk shows, a few fashion weeks under his belt, has now started getting gigs in music videos as well. A First time on the international scene, has left Mr. Levy ( his new name ) hungry for more. Although short and sweet, JJ's role in the newest video of France's pop sensation SHY'M, has him lookin quite malicious playing the roll of a top hat wearing, circus knife thrower.

Congrats Jizzy, Suits you well brotha! Keep on being ur dirtay ol' self. ;)

Denim Shirt...Still cool?

The denim shirt is a tough wear, an even tougher sell. If designed with a little more to it than just a regular denim shirt, then there's a chance. In MM's next collection we got 2 denim shirt pieces, a blue chambray denim shirt, with embroidered pocket detailing, a vintage mechanic wash, and random paint splatters, giving the shirt an aged look and feel.

The acid washed denim shirt, with mild deconstruction, tonal embroidery, and antique brass pyramid studs in the back yoke surely makes this a conversation piece. Or the fact that he's not wearing pants as well.

To the Lovers & Other Strangers...

The Woven Shirt!...Not the most favorite piece in a man's wardrobe today, but it was once a must have in every man's closet, back when a shirt was cool, special, engineered through its design to make it look flawless. Those were good days, days where men looked like men while wearing a button down shirt, but still looking bad ass in doing so. For my first official woven shirt collection, i'm bringing back certain details, cuts, and designs to throw the men's shirt market a curve ball. No foiled, huge back embroidery, zillion button shirts here...sorry! I'll give you a few sites if ur lookin' for stuff like that...but for those who get it...Enjoy!

Above, we have the classic black woven shirt, european cut, with an engineered side ruffling bib and overlock exposed stitching. Subtle antique dirty silver dome studs applied by hand in the collar and back yoke. Wear it out at a black tie event, edgy it up a lil' or wear it as shown like a true filthy rock star. Just fucking wear it!

Next in white combed poplin is a military inspired cut, with a european slim collar, hidden button plaquette, and military tie ups at the sleeves. Black hand placed studs & logo embro for that added detail. Also comes in military combat green color, w/ antique gold iodized studs, and a Black on Black color as well. Dirty! :)

Or you can always say 'gimme an asymmetric cut biker vest in woven italian suiting and black resin coated studded jeans' instead!!! U'll surely look like ur lookin for trouble either way. Wanna' piece o' dis? u wanna???...u down with OPP???

Epic is an Understatement...

So i'm back from my tour of Italy...back physically that is...mentally...not so much. The 18 days spent traveling around small towns, big cities, stunning beaches, swimming the most beautiful oceans, bumping into dolphins, burning sun on our faces, while of course eating the most delicious foods, tasting the sweetest wines and spirits, capping it with those espresso's none the likes of which i've tasted besides italy's, gelato to make ur taste buds rattle, and yes, i managed to shop and do the stores as well, having not would have been a sin. The amount of inspiration gathered in these couple of weeks cannot be described in words, so i'd rather show it in my works as i get ready for launches, new collections, photo shoots, and all that pretty fun stuff.

Above is a lil' taste of stuff i've seen and captured with my lens which never left my side. I'll post some other pics from time to time, keep checkin' in. Things will be hectic for the next few weeks as well, as i get ready for European Distributions, but i'll be up and bloggin when i can, cause i do enjoy it, and luv sharing...in the meantime...stay sizzling my friends! My tan is a golden brown right now...jealous? ;)

WE'RE FINALLY HERE!!! 4 YRS Later, bragging rights over, the time has come to defend the coveted championship, the most beautiful trophy in all of professional sports, standing 14.4'' tall, weighing 13 lbs, made up of 75% 18 carat gold, embellished with two layers of malachite, this is what 32 countries go to battle for...the absolute holiest of grails...THE FIFA WORLD CUP 2010!!!

Taking place in beautiful South Africa, may be a little far, and costly, but Montreal lacks no passion or love for the beautiful game. Supporters from every part of the globe will be cheering on their favs for a shot at the title, with so many great little hubs around the city to catch games. Luckily i'll have the chance to actually catch the knockoff stages of the tournament in beautiful Rome, as of early July, lets hope the Azzurri can make it there, as the competition is fierce and all eyes are on the prize. Dethroning the Italian national team is what 31 other countries have set out to do, it'll be a tournament of EPIC proportions, or maybe thats just how damn excited i am. I'VE GOT WORLD CUP FEVER...but nothing will make this more memorable than having to complete my wager to my lovely girlfriend as i promised her, no check that, i pinky swore, that i will go streaking at Trevi Fountain in Rome if the Azzurri repeat as WC Champions! But i'm a realist...my heart is with the green, white n' red, but the odds are stacked against the defending champs. Will history repeat itself???...we'll just have to wait and see...with this being said....LET THE GAMES BEGIN.

ART...the name says it all...

With the Grand Prix fast approaching and making its way back to Canada, Montreal, arguably one of the best cities in the world, i can't help but get all excited and gitty inside. This spectacle of raw, brute, power of classy elegance brings this city together like no other 3 day event. Although the actual partying start days before with hot spots all over the city, the real action starts as of Friday June 11th. with test runs and pre qualies. But if you're looking for something different, something fresh, i'd like to mention a very close and good friend of mine by the name of Arturo Rotondo. Some may have already heard of him, for some it may be the first time..but i can assure you, it will be heard of a lot more after GP weekend. You see Art ( what he goes by ) is probably one of the most talented, versatile artists i know, his talents are undeniably the best around, and when if comes to fusing his passions of oil painting and motorsports, you'll understand why he stands alone. For the latest news, events, work, merch etc...to really see his mastery and craftsmanship as it gets better and better, like a fine wine.

Art will also be doing a live painting and air brush session on crescent street during Grand Prix week, visit his site for actual dates. He'll also be having an exposition of his paintings on race day June 13th in the V.I.P.'s over the racers garages, where i'll be giving him a helping hand. FUCK YEAH!

Friday Frenzy...

why a frenzy?...just throwin' out feel good tunes, things that inspire, and hopin it'll kick start ur weekend, the way it has mine.

A main source of inspiration of MM's S/S10 Campaign was the '' Bleeding Logo '' shot as seen above. This creative flow all came from a controversial street artist that goes by the name Zevs' ( Christophe Shwartz ) and his renditions of famous brand & corporate logo's, to which he applies his '' liquidation " techniques. The only thing that may be a lil' hairy in this, is that he applies them to the actual structures carrying these world famous logos. Pretty deep and interesting character this Zevs, if you're even somewhat remotely interested in the arts, in any way , shape or form, even at this level, you'll be drawn to this '' street Picasso '' and his mysterious ways of making HIS statement ( controversial or not ) into a work of art.



Now enjoy the weekend...kick back...and go get ur mom's some puuuuurty flower arrangement n' chocolates!

Its a CELEBRATION!

So this past Wednesday was a day filled with preparation and festivities, to what was a great throw down of fashion & music, all for a great cause where all funds raised went to the St-Justin Hospital foundation. Singer, song writer, producer and CEO of Kpone Inc. music group, Cyril Kamar, a.k.a K-Maro, dropped his lastest album callled Generation '80 ( French Hip Hop & Electro Rock fusion ) The event took place at the internationally renowned L'Olympia de Montreal, fans, media, friends and family poured in, as we got closer to show time. My part in this you ask...well, for the past 3 yrs i've been Cyril's designer, stylist and artistic director for his brand called Balbec, consisting of t-shirts, hoodies, woven shirts, and tailored suits. Future collections will consist of denim, and a footwear division which i can't wait to get started on. Balbec has officially opened their online store, and are currently selling in parts of Europe namely Galleries Lafayette and Colette in Paris.
