PICTURE IT...SICILY 1912...

OK this is not an episode of the Golden Girls and its not that long ago, but i do get that nostalgic feeling every time i talk about my first ever menswear brand. Mikosa established back in 2002. Some of my closest friends and family had the pleasure of coming along for the ride with me as i travelled the globe for 4 yrs of the brands existence. Some were lucky enough to get their hands on the collection, which then was exclusive to Europe and part of the U.S. In doors like, Atrium New York, Fred Segal and Kitson in L.A. Harvy Nichols in the UK, to name a few, the Asian market then came into play, with Australia and Hong Kong picking up the brand.

The Name Mikosa basically broken down, in latin meaning '' My Thing '' ( Mia Cosa )

the brand was a modern day menswear collection driven by Mediterranean customs and influences. From Spain's cultural backgrounds to Italy's flamboyant settings. Offering innovative creations through the use of the finest fabrics, textures and workmanship. We thrived on imperfections just as much as perfection, the beauty of each and every single piece was that no two were a like. Every detail was art, from personalized trims, to controversial statements through print and design. This is what made Mikosa uniquely its own.

I'll be posting more pics from time to time, revisiting the brand, and the personal pieces i have stashed away for you're viewing pleasure, take note that you are getting a glimpse of what is now possible and will be happening with Malicious Manor, as its growth into a full collection has just begun! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM...

I can't help but pay homage to Estelle Getty for having used her famous line as my post title...this woman made the world smile. ( This one's for you Bibitte ;) )

As we get closer to our S/S10 Collection release, here is yet another sneak peak of the gorgeous campaign that will be fully exposed on the website in Mid February. Also on the blog this week, will be part one of a look back at how i started it all...NO not with Malicious Manor, but my very first brand launch back in 2002 which was said to be a ''Cult like Brand'' by Harvey Nicols out in the UK. Stay tuned.

( Heard this song at least 3 times over the weekend mainly cause its the theme song of a little show you must of heard of called Glee and surprisingly enough the UK has JUST started hearing this tune, the original that is, well i can't help but feel all warm and tingly inside when listening to it, so i thought i'd share it ) Don't stop believinnnnnnnn' ;)

Diesel '' BE STUPID '' Campaign...

Not the biggest Diesel fan, but when my fashionizzle home girl Kris Onips brought this to my attention, it got a few chuckles outta me! Do ppl still use the word '' chuckle '' ? Like, you think it was invented by some dude named Chuck??...nahhhhhhh i'm just being Stoopid!...Like the Diesel ads....for more, cause there's tons, check out this link!

...For these truly ASHHHMAZING studded shoes that make the Louboutins i posted a few weeks ago look like they can be purchased at payless, (OK..maybe not that bad ) But these ( Prada) Italian fashionistos KILL it with every collection & campaign they launch. Good thing THIS chap has a connection to the design house........thats right, i know the little nonnina that sews the buttons on their suits located in a cavernous mountain up in Siena Italy! I'ma sure-ah she can hook-ah me up-ah!

GOO GOO 4 GAGA...

So check these out...some guy's obsession with Lady Gaga, and Barbie. The end result, custom Lady Gaga dolls. So detailed, recreating costumes from award shows, videos, bang on hair styles, and all the right accessories to complete the looks. Something tells me Matelle the makers of Barbie will probably be contacting the creative freak. Gotta luv the passion behind this.

S/S'10 SNEAKER PEEKER...

As we wrap up MM's Holiday series...The hype and curiosity of what's to come for the S/S10 Collection is beginning to hit. Well since the release date isn't for another couple of weeks, its only fair we tease you a little. I'll be posting a few sneak peeks within the next couple of weeks of more Campaign shots, and some product shots as well. Look for these updates on the blog, twitter and the facebook group.

This is just a little taste of a new series being released in February called Malicious M-Icons ( i know you love the play on words ) Seems like we may have some mice running around the workshop...but we kinda dig that whole beat up, distressed, worn out look. No two pieces will look alike as this treatment is all done by hand, giving it a more genuine, original, and personal touch.

More S/S'10 sneakerzzzz to come...until then folks, take the best day of ur life, and put it in ur mouth! ;)

Holiday Campaign S/S10...Wrap Up!!!

This wraps up the MM Holiday Campaign for S/S10. You can see it in its entirety right here in the last three posts, as the website is going through updates as we speak. I'd like to express many thanks in response to the emails, facebook messages and the amazing reaction at the retail level thats i've been getting since the holiday campaign was released a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had the time to answer them all but i'll get to them, thats a promise. I'm glad and humbled by the reaction you've given towards the new direction MM is taking, expressing it's originality in both product and as a home grown brand that is still in its growing stages. This means the world to me and MM certainly wouldn't be here without you're support and involvement. A BIG SINCERE THANK YOU!!!...for letting me live out my passion, for what started off as a small garage based operation will soon flourish into the complete brand it needs to be, as for nearly 10 years i've been designing collections for other establishments, today...its time to put my designer skills and focus on my baby! Having built up all the contacts in the industry necessary to make this a reality...MM....Not just another tee shirt line, thats all i can say for right now...Stay tuned friends....its gonna be FANTABULOUS!

So here we have it!...MM's all grown up!...S/S 10 Holiday Campaign, Rock edge, Heroin Chic, Dirty Glam! Its a more mature look n' feel to the brands identity...without losing that MM twist. Here's a taste at what's to come within the next few weeks and months as the holiday campaign is a 3 parter, with the rest of the S/S10 Campaign dropping Early February.
