F/W'09 Campaigns in Review...Part Uno!
Research & Development has a lot to do with the fashion industry as many of you know. It takes an endless amount of time to get the ideas, inspiration and the focus down to a science before you piece together a collection that is tight, current, and interesting for the world to embrace. Fashion campaigns are an extension of you're brand, it speaks volumes of who you are, who you want to speak to, and what influences you'll make on today's society. There are zillions of brands out there, but only a select few get it right from season to season. Here are some of the best ( in my opinion ) campaigns for the Fall / Winter 2009 collections across the globe!
There are just too many to showcase in this one blog....so this will be the first of a 2 part series.

Freak-A-Chic!!
The final MM Mug Shot series piece for the Holiday collection is none other than rock icon and bad boy David Bowie. Although he released an album and several singles earlier, David Bowie first caught the eye and ear of the public in the autumn of 1969, when the song "Space Oddity" reached the top five of the UK Singles Chart. After a three-year period of experimentation he re-emerged in 1972 during the glam rock era as the flamboyant, androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust, spearheaded by the hit single "Starman" and the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The relatively short-lived Ziggy persona epitomised a career often marked by musical innovation, reinvention and striking visual presentation.

Christian Louboutin S/S10...BOOOOOOM!
I have a few obsessions, people that really know me think i'm 2 quarters shy of a dollar when it comes to my crazy passion and addiction to the beautiful game known as football ( i'm talkin soccer, not american football ), my love for good food, wine, clothing of course, but my obsession for shoes is something that my closest friends have told me on a few occassions, '' Stevo you need rehab for ur addiction '' i say '' FUUUUUCK THAT! '' Shoes speak VOLUMES about a person, i remember back in the day in my fashion design class, one of my teachers spent 3 days talking about the importance and impact a pair of shoes makes on the world...THE WORLD???...i thought it was a little extreme, but today...i get it...and Mr. Blaught....thank you for you're enlightenment and preaching and most importantly for creating this monster in me. :)
SO...when i heard the news of a Christian Louboutin sneaker becoming more and more of a reality as Spring 2010 approaches, i kinda went ape shit! Well known for his women shoes, Louboutin is ready to break into the mens market - debuting his first line of mens sneakers and dress shoes. The Louboutin men's collection prices are rumored to be around $1200. POW!
They may not be for everyone...But i got a Black Tie outdoor wedding this summer...and those studded dress shoes are whispering crazy outrageous things to me right now.

13 YR OLD Fashion Prodigy?
YA.... SO....@ 13 the most important thing to me and my friends was racing home from school, throwing our school bag through the front door, grabbing our stick, and running to the corner parking lot to play a game of pick-up hockey. Our navy blue uniform pants, scuffed up, torn, and beaten, after each intense game, but stitched back up by nonna who would scold you while doing so. AHHHHHH not a care in the world besides who was going to score that big goal or make that huge save to have bragging rights in the school yard, at recess the next morning. All to do it once again, same time, same place, the following day. So its no wonder that this 13 yr old young lady by the name of Tavi, absolutely blows my mind when it comes to her passion, knowledge and vision for the fashion industry. Take a look at one of her video's, as she take's you in the world or Rodarte, from their runway show, to behind the scenes of their campaign, to asking celebrities and industry giants, questions a 13 yr old probably would never be asking. VERY IMPRESSIVE...i mean what 13 yr old know's what MOHAIR wool is? YOU GO GIRL...we'll be hearing much more of this fashion prodigy in the making i'm sure...i'd work with her TODAY! Sign her up.

MILF HUNTER!
So as the MM Holiday collection will soon hit the shelves, the first series is called MM Mug Shots. Some of you have already seen this one called the '' MILF HUNTER '' as it was show cased in the S/S'10 Sneak Peek portion of the fashion show last September.
A famous shot of OL' BLUE EYES...Frank Sinatra, but with an MM blinged out twist. Using the latest in the industries print techniques, this photo print is embellished with Hi-Density puff inks, Jelly coating, and the MM greaser wash for that vintage dirty boy look! Each piece will vary from one another as the wash treatments are all done by hand, giving it a more personal & unique touch. Enjoy the Milf Hunter, cause we all know '' he did it his way! ''
On the on deck circle...MM Mug Shot....FOUGGETABOUTIT! Later this week...stay fuzzy!

Richardson X Pirelli 2010
World renowned controversial photographer Terry Richardson shoots Pirelli's 2010 calendar. Taking place on the beaches of Brazil, Richardson's inspiration for the shoot was turning back to the 70's where freedom of expression and liberty ruled, with little or no clothes and some interesting accessories took part as you'll notice in the video. This being a calendar for the biggest tire manufacturing company in the world, I guess takin' the term '' Burning Rubber '' to a whole other level perhaps. OH TERRY! ;)
This would make a great stalking stuffer. ;)

BeneathMe - End Of Days
Beneath Me is an unbridled powerhouse that is redefining the next generation of hardedged rock n' roll. Fueled by loud amps, catchy tunes, and a lifetime of emotional scars, the band has captured the attention of all who have been fortunate enough to experience them.
Based in Chicago, led by vocalist Franco V. Roc, a Montreal native, and the guitar duo of Mike Vujasin and George Sack, who provide the ear catching riffs that draw listeners directly into the music. The unstoppable rhythm section consists of Johnny Drugan (bass) and Andy Vujasin (drums), who put the finishing touches on what many consider to be musical brilliance.
Check out their latest video - End of Days, and Franco V. Roc bustin' the Black Skull Feather's v neck!

Editorial | Frey Mudd Styled by Sah D’Simone
Brazilian freelance stylist Sah D’Simone is certainly young, but this has not impeded him from contributing provocative, avant-garde work to the New York fashion community. He honed his talents at both FIT and Parsons, which perhaps explains his formidable skill. These images are from his most recent project, “I’m Already Gone,” photographed by Zackery Michael and modeled by Frey Mudd with Red Models. The dark editorial achieves its progressive attitude, in addition to a number of vintage garments.

Obey my Orders...
NYLON TV caught up with Shepard Fairey ( controversial creator genius of Obey ) during his live installation in Times Square. Along with an interview with the internationally recognized artist, we get a time lapse peek into the installation coming to life. Definitely a nice piece regarding one of the more well-received collaborations of the year.

Canada's got Talent...Indeed!
Krane is the brand created by Ken Chow, a New York designer who graduated from NYFIT and decided to apply his creative talent to American sportswear.
Chow was one of the designers selected in the prestigious GenArt contest, and he started out working as an assistant in brands like Marc Jacobs and Robert Geller.
His love for the military look has come to life this fall winter 09 season, in this great collection of jackets from Krane. Chow established Krane in Toronto, making it an interesting brand where old school techniques are used to treat leathers, with vintage-look military uniforms and a unique take on masculinity.
All of their products are created in Canada. FUCK YEAH!
